One of the benefits of a credit card is that a stolen credit card is less likely to result in serious loss than stolen cash. There are laws which limit your liability, even if a thief uses your credit card and runs up a hefty bill. But it's still important to know what to do if your credit card is missing.
The first thing to do is contact the credit card issuer as soon as you realize that your card is missing or notice charges on your bill that you didn't make. The sooner you call the company, the less chance there is that someone else will be able to use your card illegally. The credit card issuer can cancel your card and provide you with a new one.
